Pancakes....or crepes....or 'palacinke'

Another yummy photo for you. Here are two palačinke (PAH-lah-cheen-keh), or Serbian crêpes that I enjoyed with a friend (we had two each....) the other day at an outdoor cafe.
Palačinke are traditionally rolled with jam and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar. A variety of different fruit sauces chocolate sauce, hazelnut-chocolate cream, walnuts, fresh fruits, sweet cottage cheese and raisins, cocoa powder, poppy seed, or any combination of can be used.

These palačinke are different from the traditional ones in that they are not rolled, but arranged like little sacks. They're filled with a cooked apple filling, seasoned with cinnamon, very similar to an American apple pie filling. They were good...

Yum. Palacinke as sacks, or rolled, and that dollop of cream on the side.

I love the glasses and bottles. Beautiful.

Now this looks extremely palatable! I have the watering mouth condition! No calories, either, right?

Wow those look very yummy! Nice shot. Now I am going to have to find my Serb cookbook. I have not made palačinke in ages and now I must! Thanks for the yummy image and inspiration.

Yeah, I'll just bet those were good. The look absolutely delicious! Frankly, I think the gathered sack look is more artistic than if they were rolled.

Buon appetite!

I see you are referring to "Eurokrem" - is it still called that!?
Another fantastic filling is whipped cream, I never would have thought of it, but discoverred it in a little shop in Dubrovnik, in another time...

I still make them for myself every once in a while (the guys prefer all american pancakes) but my friend Ljilja makes excellent baked ones with cheese. Yum to both.
