I remember feeding the pigeons and the squirrels in a park in my home town. I never see many children doing that here, but many older citizens share their stale bread with the birds.

LAST GYROS OF THE SEASON
Gyros are the best-known Greek sandwich. Yesterday I ate my last one of the season.

Oh wow! Look at all those pigeons. Most cities try to get rid of them. But in this case, I'm guessing the old man gets as much pleasure giving and the birds do in receiving. It often works that way in life, I've found.
The pigeons must be used to that.
