SURPRISED WALL

These faces adorned a wall in Zemun, the next town from Belgrade. They look surprised or stunned to me. I wonder what the artist had in mind.

FANCY NAILS

Sneaked this shot of a girl with fancy nails, totally oblivious to me in the bus. I can't help but wonder how she types or texts with those nails.

DANCING IN THE DARK

Walking back home from viewing the eclipse the other night, I passed these young people in our park.

HUNGARIAN CHIHUAHUA

Met this little girl and her Japanese owner yesterday while on my dog walk. Didn't catch the dog's name, but she is 5 years old and weighs 5 1/2 pounds. She was born in Hungary and is such a lovely chocolate brown, Couldn't resist taking her photo, which I am of course sending to her owner.

NOT QUITE AS BIG

In 2014 I posted THIS PHOTO of the Genex Towers along with one other. In the meantime, the Brutalist-style  Genex Towers have been sold.  The business part is emptied, but people still live in their apartments in the other tower. Future?  Who knows?  In any case,

However, an enterprising site  makes small copies of various Brutalist architecture around Belrade, and you can own  have a mini-version of your favorite one, made in cement and very detailed.  HERE'S THE SITE.

UP, UP, AND AWAY

This is a growing section of New Belgrade once (or perhaps still) referred to as Airport City because a nose-to-the-sky jet airplane once stood there, and because this area is reasonably close to Nikola Tesla Airport.  It is now a HUGE building site...offices, apartments, and only a splash of Nature's green. Sad.

WE HAD A BIG THUNDERSTORM

Yesterday's thunderstorm brought rain, thankfully. It also set the stage for a glorious sunset.

REBIRTH

On June 2, 2019, I posted THIS PHOTO of a huge landmark tree. For several generations that tree had given shade to pssers-by, to those who sat below it, and to folklore dancers who often performed  beneath it. If you read that post, you will 'understand' (kind of....) why that healthy tree was chopped down, despite protests from citizens. Now, nothing has become of the project intended (yet.....) and a new tree has been planted. It'll be a while before it casts any shade, if it gets to be that big....

BLONDIE TEXTING

 Just another familiar sight.
