What's my name?
Photographed this beauty the other week through a fence. I don't know the name of this flower or even if it has a scent, since I couldn't get my nose close enough! Anyone know?
It looks like a Columbine or "Shooting Star" to me. Very beautiful and delicate colors, no matter what it might be. Your shot of it is superb. -Kim Seattle Daily Photo
Yes, it looks like a pink and yellow columbine to me, especially when I look at the closed bud below. I grow white ones (because when I bought them at a nursery, I couldn't tell the color!), but I prefer the colored ones.
Well, you learn something every day. I was going to say it's not columbine, it's lady's bonnet or aquilegia. But just before I did, I Googled it and made the discovery that they are one and the same! For the last few years my back garden was overrun by these beautiful flowers, but suddenly they were all gone and it's all nasturtiums, now.

wow! what an unusual flower and so pretty. I have never seen this before. I do hope someone knows what it is.
Kim might be right. I have no idea but it is lovely. I think it might have a very sweet scent.
Not my bag. I am hopeless when it comes to flowers. It's certainly very beautiful, and such a sharp image.

I have no idea, but WOW! What a beauty. It must have a dazzling scent. The photo's a stunner when enlarged, too.
"Louis" agrees with Kim - he also thinks it is a Columbine. It is indeed very beautiful. Fine capture, "Bibi!"
Yep, me too, a Columbine. (A Shooting Star is yet another mountain-dwelling wildflower... 8^})
I saw this flower in a botanic magazine, but I don't remember the name...

It's a comumbine - and isn't it beautiful!
I agree with the columbine, and it is a wonderful photograph.

Lovely photo.
Well I am proud of myself because I said "Columbine" before looking at the comments. Aren't they beautiful?!?
