The Bolivian Witch Doctor
Yes, there is a Bolivian Watch Doctor in Belgrade...or sort of. This costume stands in part of the museum "25th of May," dedicated to Josip Broz "Tito". In the same complex is his tomb. In any case, the costume was presented to Tito by the government of Bolivia. Don't you just love the doc's shoes?

i like those shoes decorated with red stars :) they look kind of like fancy wingtips.
a very interesting costume. thank you for sharing with us. have a good saturday.
I thought that I might be coming down with a cold, but one look at that mask, and suddenly, I felt much better. Can you imagine that coming at you in real life? *shiver*
Right you are, Bibi, definitely one far out doc with gorgeous threads and the shoes are way cool!
That's a very interesting post.
But i want to write a comment for your previous post about your hubby. When i see a man's face, i can understand his soul. Your hubby's face is the mirror of his soul. He looks a warm, kind, gentle, loving man with a big smile for everyone. And i say "looks" because as long as he is in your heart, he will never die.On May 23rd i have my anniversary of marriage with my hubby (ten years of marriage, twenty years together) and i can't imagine my life without him. I can imagine how hard is to say goodbye. Don't say goodbye, say "one day we'll meet again and it'll be for ever".
so lucky you are allowed to take photos in here, we aren't in london. wonderful image. must've taken him 4 hours to get ready. hugs.
Looks more like a professional wrestler.
Doc's shoes made in Texas!
No hope of getting this doc to come "stat." It would take him 15 minutes just to lace up those groovy shoes! Have never visited a presidential library here, but they probably have a nice selection of the gifts they were given while in office—that would be the fun part.
Rich and splendid...!!!
Be of little doubt.
That costume is not of a doctor of any kind--that's the devil.
That costume was likely worn during Carnaval at Oruro Bolivia, might weigh 12-15 kilos, and is danced in particular dances for a 5 km route at an elevation of around 3700 meters. Lots of videos on the 'internets'. Those shoes are needed for traction and agility--the dancers are usually very precise and the dance steps are very athletic and intricate. (Until they get hammered on chicha or beer, that is.)
Bolivia: home to some of the most amazingly wonderful people on earth.
there's an award (or two) for you on my blog, with hugs.
I really like the whole outfit!
You were right to mention the shoes I would have miss them!!!
I wouldn't want to run into one of these in a dark alley!
