Would have been 32...

Today my husband and I would have been married 32 years. I had never taken off my wedding ring before this photo, and he had removed his only once too, after a wasp stung him while he was choosing grapes at the market. His finger swelled so badly he had to cut off his ring with wire cutters, and had to have it fixed. Last August, I posted a tribute to my husband here.

This is so moving, Bibi. A beautiful tribute to your husband and your marriage and a lovely photograph. I can't imagine how you must feel but you should know a lot of people are thinking of you today - with love.

The picture says it all. Seeing the two rings, the same color and shape; same amount of wear. Only the size is different. Fixed on a black drape. The photo tells such a story. Worth the proverbial thousand words.

I so feel for you when I see this. It's all so precious isn't it - how can we, as mere humans, really treasure our time together? Is there a secret to being happy/loving/grateful in our lifetimes?

forgive me, I'm rambling. Just getting back to seeing everyone's blogs and also wanted to tell you that your photographs are getting better and better -

Your lovely tribute to your husband says loads about yourself, Bibi. Cherish is a word that many never understand. You do, though. I know that a hug from half a world away will not fill the empty place in your heart, but I send you one anyways.

Dearest Bibi. I think of you and your Angel husband often. He died so suddenly. I wonder if you are still in shock. He was taken from you so swiftly and tragically. I give you a huge huge hug.
