Neither rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night....

The quotation used by the US Postal Service could pretty much apply to these taxi drivers who, while waiting for a fare, relentlessly play chess on the hood or trunk of their cars. In all seasons, too...though I really haven't seen them in the rain, but maybe they sit inside?

Are you a chess player?

Bibi, that kind of made me smile. Everyday between 11:30am to let's say 2:00pm cabbies park their cars in front of my house and take naps. I guess they are not really into chess or any other board game for that matter. ;)

I love how you've cropped this.
I used to play chess with my older brothers when I was a kid & also my son when he was younger. Maybe I will take it up again.

Chest is a fantastic game, that I have not mastered, but I love seeing people especially i the summer sitting on the benches along the Danube and playing it.

I think it's an addiction. But a good one.

In the Miami area you would see older Cuban men playing chess at all times of the day and night, too.

THE ROOF CAVED IN....

Well, not the entire roof. Just the back side, which is not visible here. Every year I make a gingerbread house. Notice I said 'made,...
