Unisex

I guess this sign on a California rest area restroom shouldn't surprise me; it is in California after all, where the unusual rules. I think it means that a person of the opposite sex may assist someone in a wheelchair in this particular restroom.

I'm so glad to be in warm and sunny California....

Yes everyone. No lawsuit to fear for using the wrong side like it happened in the near past...

It's a funny sign that brings a sad memory. When my dad left the US, ill with Alzheimer's and in need a bathroom stop at LAX's International terminal, I frantically looked for a "family" restroom. Fortunately, a nice guard was kind enough to clear the MENS and keep people out.
