Does anyone remember similar coconut-topped marshmallow cookies, called Fancy Crests, I think, made by Sunshine in the 50's-60's? Those were about the size of the circumference of a soup can while the ones in my photo are about the size of a quarter. The cookie here is a chocolate one, whereas the originals had a different flavor.
I'd noticed the originals weren't around anymore and was surprised to find these in a Dollar Store, of all places. They don't taste bad and are, of course, really bad for you; corn syrup, additives, etc., but hey, a couple of bites won't kill me....

non je ne connais pas ces gateaux, dommage car cela me donne envie. et tu as bien raison, une petite folie de temps en temps
Not big on coconut, but they're pretty.
I used to love these Mothers Animal Cookies. ( http://www.motherscookies.com/ ) Now you made me want to go and buy a bag!
i do remember them, though i didn't remember that name. i loved them. it's dangerous to go into the dollar store candy section.
I don't remember them but I love the name!
i remember something called a son-ball but not that particular cookie ... it is pretty ..
SNO-ball .. damn autocorrect
I remember these very well. Didn't particularly like them so long as I had regular chocolate choices! But sometimes choice was determined by necessity so I ate 'em. :)
What Daryl said (that's the 2nd time today I've said that today). Sno-balls were a special fave of mine when I was a kid. So bad—but so good!
I remember those cookies!!! I can't say I'd eat even one though from the dollar store...I have "visions" of them being old and stale!!!
