yes aging can be difficult. Fortunately for my family aging is a much happier experience. My grandmother lived until she was 106 and was in relatively good health until her last days. She stayed involved with her church and was often found in the garden with her flowers. my mother passed at an earlier age but had wonderful life up until the last few years. The same was true for my father. As my wife and I approach retirement we look forward to the life we see ahead
It's startling image, imagining the story of the life behind the the person. I'm grateful for living where I do and not fearing the growing older process.

You've gone from one end of life to the other with your last post and this one! I rarely give money to street people (prefer to give to charities that help them), but I'm a sucker for an elderly person who's down on his or her luck. Just hope I age as well as my mom has (she'll be 95 next week).

This is a wonderful shot for the theme!
Nice capture...makes me wonder what her story is. Congrats on your new grandbaby!
Great theme day post for Ageing.
I just don't know what to say. It is an amazing photograph but a bit sad.
Congratulations!
A powerful photo... and not for sissies at all!!
This is such a sad scene. This woman appears to live a very hard life.
I hope you are enjoying your time in Seattle and that you are having a great time meeting the new baby.

Sad and poignant.
Is there anyplace where we can't find something like this. Yes, aging is not for cowards but it will happen to them, too.
Wonderful and powerful image Pat.

I think a big part of aging is frame of mind. Great shot.
