La Poutine


The hearty dish many Quebecois love to it is poutine (poo-TEEN).  The classic version (in the photo closest to you) is with fries, nicely seasoned gravy, and cheese curds (sometimes some sort of cheddar, but often a mozzarella-type cheese).

I couldn't very well leave Montreal without trying one, and as you might guess, that's the only big meal I had that day.  In the background you can see my friend chose a more elaborate one, and she ate it all.....
