THEME DAY--Transitions...what lies ahead

A difficult theme, or else I found it so because I had not much time to think about it.  Transition is change; some predictable, some not.

The predictable transitions are perhaps easier to cope with, if only because we have time to get used to them.  Those transitions we cannot foresee, such as suddenly being faced with a life-threatening illness, are the most challenging.

A bit like driving down life's highway.  On a clear day you can perceive sooner what lies around the bend.  I tend to think, however, that life is more like driving through the fog:  you can't always tell what lies ahead.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"U" is for "utensils'

Utensils and maybe 'unexpected,' too.  Had a cup of coffee with a friend and spotted these utensils, napkins, and oil and vinegar on my way out.

"Neither rain nor snow nor dark of night...."   So goes the US Post Office's motto that their couriers will not be deterred by the elements.

The same could be said for some stalwart chess players in Kalemegdan Park.

Church tower

Overcast it was yesterday morning, though it cleared up later. This is the tower of the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Michael the Archangel  in the center of Belgrade,  situated in the old part of the city.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY---the walker...

A bit mysterious, I think. You can't tell if he's coming toward you or walking away. Only I know, hee, hee.

The Struggle---and the chess players

I was kind of hoping the fellow  on the left would sit down at the chess table behind the statue of The Struggle and play so that I could say the statue was struggling and so were the players; each trying to win.

But he stood....

Maybe it's because I'm currently following  a diet that allows  no sugar or wheat flour that I find myself drawn to bakery windows....

Which one do you want?  You  can eat one for me, too...

Sittin'

This lady is sitting just outside Belgrade's Geological University.  Not sure why, unless she's waiting for someone.  Red hair, red lipstick, red boots!
