ABC Wednesday. "U" is for "unusual"

Couldn't resist posting these two photos today, both taken about two months ago. Colorful, to say the least! The young girl has her hair attached with what at first looked like long stringbeans, while the lady, who appears to belong to one of Belgrade's many minority groups, fascinated me with her varigated patterns.

Bibi! What a pair! The second lass reminds me of my 'Uroma - Great Grandma.' in Germany who taught me to speak the local dialect when I lived there!

Colorful - and unusual - indeed! Nice contrast between the two and excellent choices for U Wednesday!

"Louis" still likes yesterday's photo of the dog's nose! "Louis" is still smiling from that one!

Serbians love colors, it seems. It is not that unusual. I see that in Queens, NYC quite frequently. :-)

Yes, what is that in the first girl's hair? It DOES look like string beans! And the older woman, well, she looks like she's on a mission and it doesn't matter what she is wearing, she is going to get it accomplished! :-)

Ptowngirl, I think what is in the young woman's hair is some kind of hair fastener wrapped in soft cloth that you can bend around as you like. But they DO look like string beans!

I like both your photographs. It is amazing, though, how odd younger ladies look to me these days.

Hope your vacation is the best ever.

Great picks for "U" day. The young girls clothes match, the older lady looks like she doesn't care what anyone thinks.

Like you, I'm fascinated by unusual people - unusually dressed people. These are great portraits.

I like the fact that these two women, generations apart, are free to wander around in such outandish garb. Belgrade residents certainly have a style taht i not only admire, but is sadly lacking in the UK. Excellent peoeple shots.

My eye went to the patchwork jacket and not the hair vegetables.

Bibi, please excuse my intermittent visits and comments lately. Summer (well in some parts of the world) brings much extra work my direction. I'll visit and leave a comment as often as possible, however.

I like your unusual people. They certainly add color. :)

THE ROOF CAVED IN....

Well, not the entire roof. Just the back side, which is not visible here. Every year I make a gingerbread house. Notice I said 'made,...
