A dog's life

For the last ABC Wednesday I posted "H" for houseboats. Here's part of a boat/cafe along the Sava river in New Belgrade. The pipe you see supplies the boat with fresh water. The boat's guard dog seems happy since his owners were considerate enough to cut another hole in his dog house on the end opposite his entrance door so that he could watch passers-by on the quay. Click on the photo to see him closer; he won't bite.

Hello Bibi !

Pretty picture and nice story !

What is the name of the dog ?

No idea! But he's cute. He looks friendly too; not much of a guard dog, I think.

It looks as if people live there full time, do they? Are there a lot of these on the river?

BTW, I am away from home on business this week but my wife told me I received a package in the mail. Hvala lepo!

Oh BIbi,
I howled out loud when I enlarged your photo and found the dog's head poking out of his porthole! He looks much friendlier than Strangetastes frou frou attack dog today at St. Louis DP! Great shot.

I also laughed out loud-- cutest thing I've seen in a while!

You do need to enlarge this. It is a corker. The dog is hilarious.

What a hoot! That dog is (as they say in the U.S. South) "happier than a pig in slop."

What's up with all the Coke and Beck's cases? Do they have a business here, too?

I've been a bit afraid of dogs ever since my little sister was bitten in the face by one when she was three. I'm such a wimp around them!

Bonjour, Louis! Just to answer your question, this boat is a cafe/boat, so they stock up, hence the crates of Coke and Beck's. Coke has a big factory here (ah, l'imperialisme...) and Beck's is widely sold, too!

He looks a happy dog. I presume he can walk around all of the houseboat. I've never seen so much Coca Cola!

Funny photo, and good idea for the curious dog.

How cute is that! It could be his head is stuck, but I doubt it. Great photo :)

This is a great picture. I saw the dogs head once I clicked for the enlargement! So cool. This look a bit like a different world but yet so close......
Hope you are doing ok, I know you have lost your husband not so long ago. Hope you can cope with this big loss.
Greetings from Holland

CROSS-CULTURE BREAKFAST

Have been in India one week. I brought my hostess some ajvar, which she found goes very well on a chapati.
