The thistle seller

Doesn't this lady have the most wonderful face? This photo is actually from a while ago, though I saw her again not long ago on the street. In this photo, she is selling thistles and some pussy willows. It was quite a cold day and I felt sorry for her, so I bought everything she had, and she let me take her picture.

This sweet lady and your branch seller remind me of my dear baka who also wore scarves and many layers and never in her 98 years wore a pair of pants How old do you think these ladies are? They seem to have lived through some hard times with dignity.

Your blog has been a great inspiration to me. If you have time, I've finally gotten my blog off the ground at http://Sudburydailyphoto.blogspot.com.

What a wonderful picture. Her face is priceless. I feel the same way sometimes and offer people a few dollars just for the picture either of them or their wares.

This is the best street portrait I have seen. Go back and buy more. I"ll send money! Bibi, save this one. It's just a fabulous capture and is sooo representative of your city I think.

Bibi, this is a wonderful photo of a woman with character and a map of her life written on her face and bearing. Both her face and hands are careworn but graceful. Lovely!

Wonderful face and wonderful shot.

What does one do with thistles? Keep them in the living room as ornaments or feed them to a donkey?

what an incredible face she has, so much wisdom shines from it, and she is probably so used to the street and the cold, wow! aren't we so lucky to be cosy and warm in winter?

Dare I say I told you so. It's another wonderful natural portrait. The colours are naturally rich as are her features and gestures. Bless you for kindness. It's so refreshing for me to view your images. You give a jaded professional hope that ll is not lost to computer.

She is beautiful! I'd be willing to guess she's several years younger than I am. Our lives have taken considerably different paths. I just love your pictures!

Beautiful portrait of the woman. I think it would work wonderfully in B+W also.

She smiles with her eyes too..
You shot a beautiful portrait.

I'm with Petrea, Bibi. And I have a feeling you would have bought all of her wares even if you didn't have a camera with you. Either way, that was a lovely gesture. This woman does indeed have a truly beautiful face—which you have captured. Well done!

Nicely done, Bibi on all levels.

Now where were you yesterday when I was shivering in the cold at the market??

This is absolutely fabulous. A beautiful portrait of a wonderful woman. She has many lines from a long and doubtless hard life but she has such a kind face, doesn't she? Am so glad you bought everything she had. Well done on the great portrait.

Wonderful photo! I'm just curious, is there much of a market for thistles and pussy willows? Do people use them for decorating?
