Finally moving on to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, my birthplace. In this photo I am standing on a stone map of Pennsylvania that lies in front of the Pennsylvania State Museum. I visited the museum to see again (saw it a long time ago) a painting done by my great-great grandfather, which had been donated a while back. My mother's side of the family has been in America since 1739, which I guess is a long time for a "Yankee."

Harrisburg, in the shadow of Three Mile Island (but not special when you were born). My mother was born in Shenandoah. My sister and her husband have worked for Penn State for years and years, living in State College. A nice part of the world but you've come a long way, baby.
Cool photo, bibi. As you say, you're quite a yank—especially for an expat! When they fixed up Ellis Island some years ago, I sort of regretted having no ancestors who had passed through there. But like yours, mine all showed up here a loooong time ago (mid to late 1600s).
have a wonderful time in pa.
i am traveling there in september.
My word, how did you manage to cross back over the pond? Kind of like a reverse family immigration movement.
this is a great thing to do, like the shoes btw.
Hi Bibi's feet! You must be glad to be back in Harrisburg but experiencing a little "culture shock" coming from Belgrade, right?
My wife has an aunt living in Harrisburg. I enjoyed visiting a few years ago, and of course made the obligatory pilgrimage to Hershey -:)
How cool is that! A real to goodness Yankee.
