Boots and stockings

I was praying these two young girls wouldn't notice me snapping away at their footwear and legs, and they didn't. They were too busy consulting a street map.

These boots may not be as fashionable as the ones I showed you here or as practical as the others I'd shown you even earlier, but I couldn't resist...and those stockings are an extra.

Safe from the birdie...

Was sitting at a cafe with some friends the other day and looked up and saw this sparrow's feet. Good thing the canvas was between him and us...just in case he, uh, did something....

ABC Wednesday: xanthocyanopsy

I don't know what you do, but when ABC WEDNESDAY comes around, I just go through my photos and find one that fits. Or I make it fit, like I did this one of a pair of stockings and stocking covers that I spied at the Pike Place Market. XANTHOCYANOPSY is defined as "a form of color blindness in which only yellows and blue can be perceived." So a woman suffering from XANTHOCYANOPSY would love these. Come to think of it, she would like any stockings that strike her fancy, I guess, since she'd only be able to see those two colors.

Oh, well. Like I said, I just make the photo fit. :)

See other X's at ABC WEDNESDAY.

Blue jeans and red heels

Should have posted something green for Saint Patrick's Day for all of you in the US, but I just couldn't resist this girl's snazzy red high heels. They've got some sort of gold 'thingie' underneath.

SUNDAY BRIDGES--bridge of your foot

Unbelievable the lengths I will go to post a bridge for Louis La Vache's SUNDAY BRIDGES.
I saw these shoes advertised in an American magazine. Those 'coils' are on the inside, but get a load of the logo..... I think someone should have researched that a little better. Or are they saying a guy can run as fast as 'that little red guy' can swim?

P.S. The bridge of your foot is the part of your foot running from your ankle to your toes, sometimes known as the instep.

Muddy street in Jodphur, India

I had naively expected that this trip to Northern India would be a warm one, like the one I made last year to Southern India. Wrong I was. It's been pretty cool for the most part, and on occasion, rainy, though the locals say that is unusual for this season. In Jodphur it did indeed rain a bit, just enough to make everything mucky and to require skill in maneuvering one's way through the streets. This woman seemed to take it all in stride. Her flip-flops were hardly soiled, and don't you just love those silver anklets?

If I don't get stranded due to bad weather in Moscow, I'll be home in Belgrade tomorrow! It's been fun, and as soon as I get my entire photos up on Flickr, I'll post the link.

Fashion....

This girl was attractive and she knew it, as she struck a pose while texting on Knez Mihailova, Belgrade's pedestrian street. What she didn't know is that I was taking one of my hip shots of her.

Those of you who read Serbian will note that 'volim te' on the popcorn stand next to her means 'I love you.' I'm sure a lot of guys will say that to her!

His poor foot

If this photo looks familiar, it is, since it was accidentally posted on Theme Day for a short while. That is what happens when you try to use scheduled posting late at night...

This foot belongs to an old fellow seated on a bench next to where I was sitting. I think he should soak his foot and pumice off the dead skin, since here so far there isn't anything like what Jilly of Menton Daily Photo posted the other day. Click and see!

ABC Wednesday--"E" is for "Energy Efficient"

Few people own dryers here, opting to dry their clothes on a clothesline in their yard or porch or else draped over radiators indoors. While walking Bibi the other evening in nearly one foot of snow and at -3 Celsius, I came upon these socks put out to dry. I imagine that may happen only next April. I have a dryer, but use it only in the winter (now!) and between midnight and 8 a.m., when electricity is cheapest, to save energy. The owner of these socks is saving energy too, but I hope he has extra pairs inside to wear.

New fad?

It's times like this that I really feel out of touch with fashion. I snapped this shot in a hurry while I was waiting for the light to change. This was a few days ago when the weather was still warm, but now it's gone cold on us; about time. Anyway, I have to admire the devil-may-care attitude this girl has.

This post goes out to Marie-Noyale of Larchmont Daily Photo, who posted a similar photo a short while ago right here.

"Bibi's" birthplace

Finally moving on to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, my birthplace. In this photo I am standing on a stone map of Pennsylvania that lies in front of the Pennsylvania State Museum. I visited the museum to see again (saw it a long time ago) a painting done by my great-great grandfather, which had been donated a while back. My mother's side of the family has been in America since 1739, which I guess is a long time for a "Yankee."

"Bibi" in the USA!

It's summertime, and like many others, I'm on vacation. I'm currently in the US until late August, and will be posting photos from here. Sometimes I'll post photos that have something to do with Serbia, comparisons, contrasts, and such, and sometimes I'll just post what I find interesting!

My first US stop was New York City, and I was very pleased to meet up with Alexa from The Road is Mine and "Lily Hydrangea" from Long Island Daily Photo (see my sidebar for their links.) Lily hadn't met Alexa, and neither had met me, but somehow our blog auras led us to one another. Joined by my NYC friend Marianne (who's being coerced into starting Queens Daily Photo...), we hiked over the Brooklyn Bridge and along the Brooklyn Panorama.

In this photo you see our feet daintily poised on the bridge's planks. The foot with the bandaid belongs to Lily, the red nails are Alexa's, and the covered toes are mine.

Stay tuned for more photos from the Big Apple, then Pennsylvania, Seattle, and somewhere in California.

Hairdresser, pedicure, waxing, artificial nails!

This is nearly a one-stop beauty shop where ladies can treat themselves to beautifying from head to foot! Judging by the sandals waiting patiently outside, I imagine that there's someone in there who's having her feet done just now. I've never had artificial fingernails, but am morbidly fascinated by the lengths I see some women wear. I read that artificial fingernails carry a risks of everything from fungal infection to allergies and even burns due to their increased flammability. Better use a potholder...

Theme Day: FEET (and a little leg, too)

Here we go with my red fetish again. These shoes looked so snazzy. I was going to crop the image, but the girl's attire only enhances her feet in these pretty shoes.
