Don't!

Here's a list of what you can't do in some parks in New York. Looks at first like you can't do much, but you can still read, jump rope, talk, sing, dance, sit and watch the passers-by, and smell the flowers.

NO swearing either, damn! Rules, rules rules! Like in Singapore, a "fine" city!

Looks like a really welcoming and fun place to visit. NOT!

What a sad park...now I wonder, who wants to come in, with all those don'ts?

Depends on the park too. Big ones allow the first two. And they definitely relax the third when the Philharmonic plays in Prospect Park here in Brooklyn —everyone brings a picnic and a bottle of wine. Number 4 makes sense, of course. As for #5, in Prospect Park there are certain areas where the park becomes a dog run at specific times in the morning and evening.

Lest you all think we're NO fun at all here in NYC, these rules make a lot of sense for this particular park. If it's the one I think, it's not so much a park as a promenade. Right, bibi?

SUNSET

A beautiful urban sunset over New Belgrade. The 'smoke' from the stacks on the left is actually just steam from the heating plant....
