In the Subway

For those of you who may be viewing for the first time, I am currently in the US until late August, so I am posting from my homeland

I am ever fascinated by the NYC subway. People in Belgrade asked, "Aren't you afraid to travel alone in the subway in New York?" But I am not. I know bad things can happen, but I have found New Yorkers extremely kind and helpful, above and below ground.

You are right about New Yorkers - somehow they get an undeserved reputation. My son & I travel to NYC from Baltimore several times a year and have never had an issue. Lovvvvve the new header btw [and so does my son, Radovan].

Quite an artistic photograph! I like all the photos you've posted so far from NYC...

"Red, white, and blue" stands out in my mind, for some reason! ;-)

You are so right. When we visited a couple of years ago we navigated the subway easily and felt quite safe. It was surprisingly normal!

Nice shot, dramatic with the sillhouette. I'm a native New Yorker and I have never had a problem riding the subway. Now it's all cleaned up and even more secure.

Love the photo! I agree with you about the New Yorkers. My first visit to NYC and some subway construction brought me to Harlem around 11PM (instead of Columbia Uni). I thought that was it, but nothing happened... and people were great!

Btw, when I saw the name of your blog a few weeks ago, my first thought was: "I hope she's not vegeterian/vegan" :-D.

Hello Bibi. I just wrote that name on my post about Bibi Netanyahu, then I saw your name on a blogroll. It must be a sign that we should meet. :)
Love your subway sign. Like an icon.
Say hello to "the old country" (mine too) for me. Have fun in New York.
Greetings from Jerusalem.

I ride the subway at all hours, and haven't had a problem yet! We New Yorkers are actually a pretty tame and friendly (though not boring) bunch.

CROSS-CULTURE BREAKFAST

Have been in India one week. I brought my hostess some ajvar, which she found goes very well on a chapati.
