A splash in the scum

"Scum" is one of those words that sounds like what it is....ick. But it can also be beautiful, I think, as is the green pond scum in this photo, floating on the surface of the dark water, dotted with orange autumn leaves. The splash of the fountain adds just the right touch, I think.

I'm thinking the same thing Randy said! What a beautiful shade of green topped by a scattering of red maple leaves. Beautiful!

Congratulations—it definitely takes a certain flair (not to mention a great eye and positive attitude) to make pond scum beautiful!

Looks like a photo from National geographic! Colors of nature. Those so bright and almost surreal lure us but are colors of warning, like bright lovely poisonous mushrooms!

Wow, that looks like some kind of crazy painting, by nature. Such brilliant and crisp textures and colors. The splash certainly does touch the scum composition off very nicely.
