Young love, old love, same love.

These photos were taken just within a few meters and a few moments from each other. I thought they were so touching--the young couple standing up, facing in the same direction, perhaps thinking of their future, and the older couple seated, each absorbed in his/her own thoughts, and perhaps reflecting on the past.

Perhaps the older couple no longer need the security of facing the same direction.

I really think you hit the nail on the head in this post. It is quite beautiful.

I am doing something different on my Gordon blog. I set out to photograph and describe every house in the village where I was born in 1934.

The Beatles summed it up. "All Yo Need Is Love". It doesn't matter what age you are.

Intentional or not, I especially like this pair of contrasts for the obvious reasons, but also for how the first image of the straight, upright young couple is accentuated by the strong, straight and angular objects around and behind them, while the older stooped couple blend right into the smooth, worn curves of the tree. In any case, Bibi, great takes and pairing for your beautiful post!

This is a fantastic post. Love these pictures. Not many people go from the first picture to the second picture without a few divorces in between. I am still counting the years with my hubby, this year on number 24!

I especially like that the photo of the two standing has straight lines - the railing he has his foot on. Then the photo of the older couple is framed on the left by the curve of the tree. It just adds to the contrast. I like these posted together.

THE ROOF CAVED IN....

Well, not the entire roof. Just the back side, which is not visible here. Every year I make a gingerbread house. Notice I said 'made,...
