SUNDAY BRIDGES -The bridge to Lido Beach

It's nearly the end of the summer, but it's still hot here. Many people who could not get away to a big beach this summer (or even if they did) like to spend a day on one of Belgrade's riverbank beaches. Lido Beach is located on Great War Island and every summer the Municipality of Zemun sets up a pontoon bridge across this section of the Danube for sunbathers to reach the island.

Did you cross any bridges to reach a beach this year?

Check out more bridges at Louis La Vache's Sunday Bridges.

Looks like a great place! Sounds wonderful to cross the bridge and get to the island.

Because the Philippines is an archipelago, I still have a hard time thinking of rivers as having a beach. :D

This is a great idea for a temporary bridge!

When I was in junior school, I was in the school choir and I sang "Danube River of dreams," You must have lots of dreams as you walk on this pontoon bridge.

Wonder how many places have a Lido beach. The one we have here in NY is named for the original off Venice—this one too? I'm at the beach right now, but didn't have to cross any bridges to get here. :~}

So the beach is unreachable by foot the rest of the year .. interesting ... I did in fact cross several bridges on the way to the beach this past July...I drove (with a friend) from NY to VA .. the last bridge to the beach was Gwynn Island Bridge ... and I posted a photo of it
here

I like the idea of the pontoon to access the island.I wish I could have been there this summer... it will be for another time.
Only got to see the sea once but we crossed a lot of bridges.

I like the new header too. Hmm. I haven't been to the beach this summer, but have crossed lots of bridges, there and here.

This is lovely...terrific view point too.
For some reason it got me thinking about Ada by Momo Kapor (my grandmother bought a copy for me since it reminded her of going to Ada when a younger woman)...I just found out doing Google search that Mr. Kapor passed away this year.

PS - used to read his series about a young woman in Bazar when I was a kid.

THE ROOF CAVED IN....

 Well, not the entire roof. Just the back side, which is not visible here. Every year I make a gingerbread house. Notice I said 'made,...
