SKYWATCH--from the hospital window

My little granddaughter was born on Feb. 23rd last and I spent that entire day at the hospital with my daughter.  This was the view of the setting sun before I left to go back to her place.  She and Nina came home the next day.

Which way is north?

Moss is said to grow on the north side of a tree.....this one makes it hard to orient oneself.  But there's more moss on the left side, so maybe that's north....  Taken in Seattle's Woodland Park.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"M" is for "meow"

Do cats pray?  Hmmmm.....never thought about it.  But I do know that dogs have a Buddha nature.

I have the haunting feeling I've used this photo before, but I discovered it in a stash of my old photos here on the computer I used while at my daughter's here in Seattle.

Anyway, I always try to imagine the thrill these people experience, not that I would ever want to try parachuting.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--the stamen

You can tell I have been pretty much housebound here in Seattle, helping my daughter with her new baby.  I pinched a magnolia blossom from the tree in her yard, and here's the stamen and its shadow.
