I'm down and I can't get up...

How long does the average umbrella last? I'm not sure, but mine don't seem to last long....on second thought, perhaps they do, since I don't hardly ever carry the ones I have. I prefer hats.

There is still an umbrella repair shop here; I remember it from when I first moved here, so some people care about their umbrellas, but not the owner of this pretty red one.

Umbrellas have become disposable items.

Great eye on this one and terrific colors, too! Looks like someone could fit a great big umbrella in that garbage bin, but others weren't able to get their trash and cigarette butts in the thing successfully!

Au centre Getty, les parapluies ne sont pas de tres bonne qualite alors ils cassent les uns apres les autres et j'en ai photographies quelques-uns dans un piteux etat. Le votre a au moins la chance d'etre heureux grace a son rouge.

They just don't make RED umbrellas like they use to!

I should get a good rain hat. Thanks for the idea Bibi.

I too prefer a hat. And don't particularly like to dodge umbrellas.
Looks like that red one is a goner.

Looks like a pretty substantial umbrella to be tossed so cavalierly. I have a red one too—because rain makes me sad but red cheers me up! Perhaps a hat instead . . .

CROSS-CULTURE BREAKFAST

Have been in India one week. I brought my hostess some ajvar, which she found goes very well on a chapati.
