My grandmother used to make these around Thanksgiving and now so have I. Great as a tart side, in salads, or in a leftover turkey sandwic...

In Swedish gravida means pregnant. In plural.
Funny how political correctness has changed our vocabulary over time!

Shoot...if you were an elderly primigravida at 30, I'd hate to hear what I am now!!! (But then...I never had any kids of my own...)
What an interesting sculpture and post...In romanian "gravida" means pregnant...
Is it just me, or does the marble veining remind anyone else of stretch marks? (I'll bet this is the first time G has been for "gravida"!)
Beautiful sculpture! But it hurts to see a pregnant lady standing up that strait! :) I still remember my pregnancies, they would call me secundogravida in your town.
J'aime ce mot "gravida" vu pour la premiere fois ici. On sent la fierte dans la pause.
I wonder what the term would take a different pronunciation for the woman on American TV who had 19 kids and delivered them all.
