Somebody in the government is hell-bent on imposing cultural monuments around town. These scales stand in the 'terazije' secton of downtown. 'Terazije' does mean scales, implying the kind you see at villagearkets, but the Internet gibes us another more likely meaning: "Terazije street

I'm a little slow...finding the Serbian/Ottoman-Turkish history all intertwined and complicated. So I don't get who's doing what here. I think you've got access to me email, so I would be very interested in what is happening in this case. I've read a lot, but at the age of 80, I'm not always sure if I'm remembering it right. Ha.
