SKYWATCH--the view from my daughter's old room

This is the view from my daughter's old room in the apartment where my son now lives in New Belgrade.  The room is now occupied by my granddaughter.  When my daughter lived there, the view was much different; just fields and the railroad tracks behind the buildings, the steam heating plant, and the road, but even that was just one lane....

Times change.

There is an old restaurant here in Belgrade I've eaten at many times since I came to "Yugoslavia" in 1977.

There are rumors that it is closing....why, no one seems to be sure, but one thing is sure, since the rumors started, it has been packed. Mind you, it always was, so....

Caught this lady reading the paper on a slow day in her purse shop on Balkanska Street, a street known for its many artisan shops....which are rapidly disappearing.

All spiffed up for the New Year

Today is Serbian New Year's Day and these two dogs are spiffed up for the New Year.  I like this because it's a good sign that someone takes care of them and that they aren't just street dogs.

And hey, this guy  still hasn't invited me in....Remember this post?
