I love the new Rosie the Riveter thermos my daughter (aka Santa) got me for Christmas.

Couldn't resist asking this Whole Foods grocery store employee if I could take his photo. He was all too pleased to oblige.

 My little dog and my daughter's dog, who have become best friends this trip.

SERENDIPITY AGAIN

 Another pearl from the "take-one, leave-one" little lending libraries stands that pop up here and there on neighborhood streets around Seattle.

Golden Book Guides were a staple of my childhood. I had Rocks and Minerals, Trees, and Reptiles and Amphibians, among others. This is a vintage one and I had to Gorilla Glue the binding, but it is basically still up-to-date.

CREATIVE CHRISTMAS TREE

My friend went for a mammogram today and this is the office Christmas tree! Quite clever. Click to enlarge it and read the little sign toward the top of the tree.

CHRISTMAS COOKIES 2023

 

Made these the other day with my Seattle granddaughter. They are pretty and indeed a far cry from the sand tarts and gingerbread men with just cinnamon sugar topping, walnuts, and raisins that my grandmother used to make!

 It's not the first time I browse through yard sales and thift shops. Every now and then there is something that just 'speaks to me' like this dainty Chinese tea cup.
