WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--THE HERON

 Spotted in the river in the town of Kovin, about 54 kms from Belgrade. A quick shot; bit fuzzy.

SKYWATCH--the Parliament's horses again

 These horses (there is another almost identical statue on the other side of the stairs leading to the Parliament) are hard to resist, almost at any times a day, for they make a very impressive sight.

I've shown you them several times before, most recently last December.

 Late=night dog walk....passed this bakery where I caught this very tired cleaning lady through the window.

POLISHING PAVIC

 Milorad Pavić (1929 - 2009) was a Serbian writer from a well-known family of writers. He is mainly known for his poetry and novels. You can read more about him by clicking here.

There is a statue of him in Tasmajdan Park near me where I walk my dog every morning. In this photo, he is getting a facial from these two friendly 'cosmeticians'.

MR. BASS MAN. I think

 I am not well-versed  in musical instruments, but I think this fellow on the left is carrying a bass violin.

Correct me, please, about the instrument if I am wrong.

(And just today I found this pair again, all set up and playing!)

MONDAY MURALS---in a passageway...

All I could say was 'Wow.'  This spectacular series of murals (actually, all one scene except for our purple friend here), is usually hidden from view when the large passageway door is closed. 

I'm glad it was open when I passed.

EASTER SUNDAY

 Today is Easter in the western world, but not here, since Serbian Orthodox Easter falls this year on May 2nd.

That said, I have no bunny or chick or egg photo for you, but I do have these girls in Easter colors.

WEEKEND IN BLACK AND WHITE --chillin'...literally

 Still testing my new mirrorless Z50. Took this from about 50 feet or so away with at 50mm. Not too bad. It was cold out, but sunny.

Getting there, spring is....slowly, but surely.

 OK, I had said the other day that another photo was my last from Pancevo for the moment, but I couldn't resist posting this building, which I think I photograph (but not necessarily post) every time I visit. Would love to  live there and have that balcony...

THEME DAY--April 1st "Future Blogger Tops Notre-Dame"

 FLASH:  You read it here first!

Just in and brought to you in a flashback from 1971 in the Nostradamus Daily, future photoblogger Yankee-in-Belgrade ascends Notre-Dame rooftop!  Yes, you read that correctly. Pat, formerly a.k.a Bibi, cast her fate to the wind and with the help of a little French boy who took her photo and who we hope is reading this, scurried up the roof on the north tower and held on to a flagpole. 

Our sources tell us the pole has long since disappeared, but Yankee-in-Belgrade, predicted 50 years ago by Nostradamus,  is still going strong. Says she today, "Nostradamus channeled me that day to say that one day the roof will disappear, so I figured, 'Carpe diem!' Glad I did."
