WEEKEND IN BLACK AND WHITE--shattered

For years (literally) I have passed by this window on an abandoned building near me. I imagine the building, located in a prime real estate area, must be under some sort of litigation preventing it from being sold and possibly razed.

In the meantime, the window made a lovely abstract.

SKYWATCH--Air Serbia

That's Nikola Tesla hitching a ride on this Air Serbia flight, which was returning to Belgrade's airport named after him. I hope to be heading in the other direction this fall, but most likely with another airline that has a more direct flight to where I am going.

ONE SACK--an urban still life

Artsy shot for you today. Just goes to show you that you can find a subject just about anywhere if you look. I really like how this photo turned out.

WHITE

I had these two totally unrelated photos and I thought I would post them together, side by side. I was trying to make the cat appear as if it were looking at the bird with evil intent.

Didn't quite work out the way I wanted it, but here they are anyway.

LAW AND BUSINESS SCHOOL

I have always liked this doorway on Belgrade's Law and Business School, just a few doors down from where I live.

MONDAY MURALS--around the corner and beyond

This building is surrounded by murals, at least on three sides. I couldn't get to the back of it.

WEEKEND REFLECTION---the hookah pipe

Hookah bars are fairly common here now. I don't smoke, but although I like the fragrances that I inhale when I pass by a hookah bar, I'm not sure if I'd like to try.

SKYWATCH--REEDS

When I visited the town of Belo Blato, about 60 kms from Belgrade, I was a bit taken aback by these odd-shaped 'haystacks'.  They are not haystacks at all, but rather bundles of reeds that are later sold for roofing on various structures.

Here's a  link for you. Notice that this industry has been around a long time and that it is a fact that insects do not attack the reed stem, hence making then perfect for roofing.

RECYCLED?

I had to dig into my archives for this one, since I don't have too many recent Belgrade photos.  Gotta get out there on the streets again, but it's hot.

Anyway, for those of you who enjoy beverages in a can, be they with alcohol or not, why not save the tops?  Ask some friends to join you....  You could create an eye-catching car like this one, and quench your thirst at the same time.

WISTERIA

Wisteria falls in the category of my most-loved flowers, including peonies, violets, and roses.
