PHOTO SHOOT

Same public fountain as the gypsy boys were enjoying, but at the other end. These young women were doing some sort of photo shoot. 
 

"COME ON IN, THE WATER'S FINE"

 Need I say again that this summer here in Belgrade has  been scorching, more days than not. I am not one of those who goes to the river to dip in and cool off, nor to public pools now with possible non-vaxxers there, so I'm stuck.

But should I ever cast my fate to the wind, I would join these gypsy boys who have no qualms about just hopping right in this large public fountain. Not one passer-by said anything, but also looked at them enviously.

And yes, I found them and gave them a copy of the photo.

THEME DAY--AUGUST 2021 "STICKY"

 The theme this month is 'sticky,' and I chose to think outside the box, not having any viscous photos or seeing any good ones while out.

This one is from a few months ago and my friend's dog, who LOVES her sticky, just had to pick up as many 'stickies' as she could.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--the street below in a raindrop

Just over a week ago it rained for several days. Undeterred, I put my camera to work through my window, and caught this raindrop on my railing.

STEFAN "THE TALL" LAZAREVIC

Belgrade has a thing for erecting statues, gigantic ones sometimes, like shown in THIS RECENT POST.

 Today's photo is of DESPOT STEFAN LAZAREVIC, also known as Stefan the Tall.  Note that his title of despot did not carry the same connotation it does today, but simply meant 'lord.'

I wonder if he'd be angry that he isn't nearly as tall as the statue in the other link.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS

Snapped this photo the other day while stranded at a cafe restaurant between cloudbursts. Judging by his baseball cap, t-shirt, and suspenders, I'd bet this gentleman lived in the US for years, then retired at home here in Serbia.

 

Whadja say, Grandpa?

 Judging by the box next to his backpack, my guess is that this kid just received a spiffy new tablet from his Grandpa and is totally absorbed in it, so much so that he didn't pay any attention at all when Gramps asked him something just before I took this pic.

I love the poodle's expression....and the woman's haircut.
