FUNGI

 I have not posted for a while and now I am back in Belgrade dealing with packing for an upcoming intracity move. May not be able to post regularly for a while. 

These toadstools were growing on the rotting side of a maple tree. Wondering if they are edible....

WHITE TAXIS

 How dull. Starting today, May 8th, all taxis must be white to comply with EU standard. Serbia is not even in the EU (yet...), but looks like it wants to be.

EDIBLE SPOON

 I love this idea. This is the first time I have seen coffee served with an edible (cookie) spoon. It is environmentally friendly (saves on washing) and yummy.

SPRING HAIR

 Pastel hair. Today is Serbian Orthodox Easter.

ELECTION TIME AGAIN...

Elections pop up here seemingly at someone's whim. In June there will be another round of elections for the City Assembly, due to alleged irregularites in the 2023 elections. Here is a stand run by supporters of Serbia's current president. I shall write no more, but you can have a look RIGHT HERE.
 

STANDING OUT

 

This building dates frim the Sixties and is in the Brutalist art style. Not so attractive, but apartment layouts are great and ut is definitely sturdy. Someone has chosen to beautify their terrace and I hope it will catch on.

PASSED ON

 Strawberry shortcake made like my grandmother did is seasonal comfort food for me. No one makes it like this here, but I have passed on the recipe to my Serbian daughter-in-law. Now it is still a family favorite.

A GOOD SIGN

 This pigeon landed not far from me in the park and just stared at me. Most of Belgrade's pigeons are gray and unattractive. I hope it is a good sign...

WAITING FOR THE PHARMACY TO OPEN

 This fellow was reading a flyer while waiting for the pharmacy behind him to open. Nothing, special; just a slice of life.

BACK IN BELGRADE

 

Returned home just a few days ago; caught up in sorting out stuff for upcoming move (still in Belgrade), doing laundry, and I hope soon to be editing photos.

In the meantime, this dress in front of a thrift shop across the street caught my eye. A retro one; my mother wore a similar one for special occasions.
