Cruising down the Danube...
For a number of years, interrupted only by the NATO bombing in 1999, tourist ships cruise down the Danube and pass through Belgrade. This one (and it's one big ship) is the Swiss Gloria, run by http://www.scylla-tours.com/dynasite.cfm?dsmid=1523, and she passes through Belgrade on her way to the Black Sea. You can see some tourists happily clicking away at Kalemegdan Fortress, which of course you can't see, since it would be behind you! The ship docks for a few hours in Belgrade, giving the tourists a chance to walk around, buy souvenirs, and take more photos. I helped a couple from New York find their way the other day while downtown....and was complimented for my excellent English!

Hello Bibi !
Very nice photos...
Thank You for this part of Hitory...
See You later.
A cruise You know how much I love cruises! Is that Livinia I see on deck? With Mr. Peck? May I borrow your ship to shore radio, please?
What an odd yet loooong cruise ship. Maybe you have a future in being a tour guide , Bibi! A cruise on the Danube sounds excellent.
I love the excited seagulls in the first pic. :)
Interesting that they commented on your english. Did you enlighten them?
I don't like very much cruises but I think Danube it's magic!
Lol, so glad your command of english impressed them! That is one long, long ship. I guess it will handle rivers pretty well but might run into structural issues if it was on an ocean.
Oh Bibi, that's a hoot. Like mim, I'm curious to know if you let them in on your "secrect."
What a long ship!!!
good to know that your English is good!!!
ah ah ah ;-)
but didn't they notice you're not Serbian?
ha ha your english must be good then!!!looks grey there now, we are still having some sunshine here.
I found the excellent English quite amusing. I am intrigued about your accent now. I wonder if it has adopted a Serbian feel over the years. The Danube has a romaNtic image to us in the UK. I'm sure mnay a Brit could be found on those cruises.
I have been wanting to do this for a lot of years now. One day...
Haha. A few times I've had foreigners say that my English is very good too while giving them directions!
Friends and family back in the UK always comment how I sound half Scottish, half 'Eastern European' when I speak English these days.
This is so funny Bibi. I guess you are fully integrated with Belgrade's culture! It has been a long while after all.
That is quite a long boat too.
Interesting post.
