The shoe repair shop

I passed this shop late the other night at an hour when I wouldn't think it would be open. The shoe repairman was nowhere in sight. I liked the way these shoes seem to be waiting, like patients in a doctor's office...or perhaps they've already been "treated," and are waiting for someone to pick them up. I especially like the two shoes in the apparatus on the right, and the photo on the wall of...shoes!

Note to post: Footnotes commented to say there's a 'footwear' post on Saturdays, and I didn't even know! Serendipitous! Check out:

Beautiful picture! I love the smell of shoe repair shops, so old-fashioned and reassuring. I am so glad they still exist.

Shiny shoes on the shelves speak for themselves. A tidy shop.

Cool photo. I like pictures that tell a story; or at least let you imagine a story!

I love this presentation! Such a public display but yet so personalized with the personality of wear and worn.

I love stores like this, you're right, it's like a shoe hospital, with every shoe waiting for it's treatment. I also love the potato photograph, what a great lens!

I like this photo too. Can almost smell the leather, paste... And the picture on the wall. Though I'm thinking of the Van Gogh picture I have of old shoes.

Love this photo and I love shoes!
The shelf in the middle looks like it holds teeny tiny boots for teeny tiny feet!
