ABC Wednesday "G" is for "gloves"

A street cleaner was undoubtedly taking a break and left his gloves on his dustbin cart. This photo reminds me of my grandfather, who used to do the same with his garden gloves. After mowing the lawn, he'd leave them on the mower's handles. I remember too that when he fell asleep while reading in his armchair in the living room, my grandmother would gently remove the book, and his hands would stay in the 'holding a book' position until he woke up, sometimes because I'd be giggling so hard.

this reminds me of what I just finished ... pruning raspberry bushed. Should have done weeks ago. Gorgeous day in Seattle today ... perhaps even low 60's ... almost t-shirt weather.

and in nyc it was 12°F when I got up this morning—and much colder still with the wind chill factor. We all had our gloves—and hats—on today!
This is such a cool shot, bibi (and I like your reminiscence of your Grandpa). Very sweet.

C'est génial Bibi!

The gloves are so lifelike. Wonderful capture. Loved hearing your memories of your grandfather.
PS - I looked all the photos of the dogs yesterday. She does a great job taking care of them. I'll e-mail more.

The story makes the photograph more special. I"m still looking at the puppies below. Hoping they find loving homes.

I love it. What better way to represent the (undeserved) anonymity of the street cleaner than with a pair of disembodied hands!

This is such a great photo! I've never seen handless gloves in "working" position before.

It's the invisible man! I love this shot, it's just full of life despite there not being a single living being in it!

Gloves on a green bin!

I love the way gloves take on the shape of the wearer's hands over time!

Gee(another 'g'), I guess I missed some g's that you all have pointed out to me, like 'grandfather' and 'green'.

Thanks---I'm expressing my 'gratitude'!

Marley took my thought...it looked to me as if you had a picture of an invisible street cleaner at work.

This is really spooky. I'm with Marley they are so precise that it's hard to image someone hands not in those gloves.
