Silky....

Yesterday we had colorful bamboo, today colorful scarves, silk at that, that I saw (but didn't buy!) at Seattle's Pike Place Market.

Snazzy

Definitely head-turning, snazzy duds, and it's great to see older some older people have a sense of fashion! Live it up.

Tiny socks

Even tiny socks seem to get lost in the wash. Only two matching pairs here. I know mine do...there is a gnome in my washing machine, I am sure.

Laundry day

I'm always looking for open doorways that lead into courtyards and unexpected finds. I like the colors on this laundry. For those of you who may not know, the 'sheet' in the middle with a diamond shape cut out is a quilt cover...just push the quilt through and adjust!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to my readers in the US and to those Americans abroad who are celebrating today. I always 'do' Thanksgiving on the following Saturday, since it's just easier for me, because people here don't have today off.

I've done my shopping already, but didn't get myself all decked out to do so like this lady in her fur coat.... Though there have been recent animal rights' protests, so far it's still safe to wear fur. And is that a crocodile or lizard bag....?

(No, I do not have a fur coat or a leather bag....)

Blue laundry

I think I have a laundry fetish. I have shown you laundry six times: here, here, here, here, here, and here. And today, we have a 'blue' laundry photo. I wonder if some of that pale blue shown was once white....

Airing the clothes

Nothing like airing out your clothing to get them sweet-smelling....and perhaps full of cat hair.

Eco-friendly and practical

When I was a little girl, my grandmother in Pennsylvania used to hang our laundry out on a clothesline and hold up the line with long poles (clothes props). I used to love to watch the wind billow the laundry and the poles would sway back and forth.

That was long ago and in our yard. Now pretty much everywhere, although not that much here, people have clothes dryers. I have one, but only use it when I really have to. My son has one, too, and he shares my opinion of saving electricity. We both use these 'dryers'. I love to hang laundry on this apparatus.

Rip 'em up!

If you are a new father celebrating your baby's birth in Serbia, please don't wear your best designer shirt to the party.... This is what it will look like, since it's customary for male guests to shred a new Dad's shirt. My son wisely wore an old t-shirt and brought along two other old shirts....to be ripped by friends who arrived a bit later.

Cold, but unstoppable....

Took this photo shortly after my arrival when there was a bit of sun, but that's all some Seattleites need to get out in summer wear. This girl skater reminded me of this one I photographed in Belgrade.

Yesterday it snowed in Everett, 20 or so minutes above Seattle....

I am still in the US on family matters.

No hurry to dry

Snow's almost gone, but in a few places it's still around. It's hard to dry your clothes in cold, damp weather.

Autumn leaves

I know it isn't autumn, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this lady in Kalemegdan Park. I envy people that can carry this off. People would stare at me if I attempted to go out like this.

I like what she's wearing, though it isn't for me. Do you?

At the 'kafana'

A 'kafana' is a special type of restaurant that serves traditional home cooking along with wine, rakija (brandy) or beer, looks like grandma's place, and usually there's lots of smoke....this has been somewhat reduced thanks to the new no-smoking ordinance. We have here a somewhat stiff couple sitting at a window table. Judging from the cigarette between the lady's fingers, this appears to be the smoking section. They DO look a bit pale...from the smoke, the lack of sunshine in winter, or not enough wine or brandy?

The Tailor Shop

Need a new suit for the holidays? Some people here still prefer to go to a tailor or dressmaker, and there are quite a few of these shops around. Most appear to be traditional ones, like the shop shown here.

1000!

This cute little pug in her winter coat seems to be saying, "What? Already?" when Bibi told her it was our 1000th post today.
