No matter how different we all may look, we humans have all the same needs and desires...one of which is food. Tastes may very, too, but cultures around the world have their own versions of sandwiches.
This head-turning lady was enjoying a sandwich in Lower Manhattan. (This was another of Bibi's 'hip shots'.)
I'm still in the US and don't have so much free time to visit your blogs, but I'll be back...!

Do You miss those American soft bread sandwiches?
So you changed your hairdo visiting the States!!!
Sorry I could not join you,I am having some health worries in the family that keep me away from the blogs.
No nose-ring? She must be from the Conservative wing of the party.
WOW photo! Great capture! Did you talk to Miss Punker Mohawk? I wonder how long it takes her to get her hair ready in the morning?
like the shot.
Wow, she sure is old fashioned. She looks like some of the people I used to hangout with almost 30yrs ago. I wonder if she's a die hard or new to the scene.
Nice find!
A SUPERB shot!;-)
This shot is what photography is all about and always has been. Capturing the heart, soul and appearance of the human race. So entertaining. Thanks!
It's crop season time!
I always wonder how people with hair like this manage to sleep ... seems pretty inconvenient. Nice composition on the fly -:)
she looks like a cockatoo, wonder if she ever looks in the mirror!
Great shot, bibi! She (and her companion) are so well-decorated, yet this is such a slice-of-ordinary-life moment—looks like your basic BLT.
This is the perfect time to ask... In this type of situation, do you ask the person if you can photograph them? Do you then ask their permission to post their photo?
I'm just starting to really get into photography and I'm petrified to take pictures of people because I'm not sure if it's "allowed."
If you could answer, here or there or anywhere, I'd love it. Thank you!

What a character. In answer to the previous commenter, I'd think a person who presents themselves in this way is only too delighted to have her photograph taken.
No coubt about when it comes to shooting from the hip you are the master. Don't you just love the sights and sounds of a city and it's poeple.
Hello, Kirby. I sent you a personal email, but for those others who may be curious, this is my outlook: when I am in Serbia where I usually am except for vacations like now, I rarely ask someone for a photo simply because my experience has been that when I do, I am refused! Many are still concerned that 'photographers' may misuse a photo to spread stereotypes, negative connotations, or whatever. They've been conditioned by years of sanctions, the bombing, etc. I don't think I misuse photos (make fun of people, write hurtful things). This photo is a case in point. I didn't ask her, because I feel that if she's bold enough to express herself by her dress and hair, then she probably likes the attention! And I did not write anything negative. In some countries, however, like France, you need to get the person's permission. Of course, if you intend to use any photo for commercial purposes ($$$), then you need written permission.
I bet she's eating a tuna melt:) My son John desperately wants a Mohawk!
