International Women's Day is marked on March 8th every year. It started as a Socialist political event, and then blended into the culture of many countries. In some countries' celebrations like here in Serbia, the political aspect has faded and the holiday has become occasion for men and children to express their love to the women around them, similar to Mother's Day or Valentine's Day.

According to my wife, every day is Women's Day.
Not that I am not all for a day to celebrate women but when is men's day? And why would we need a day to celebrate women as opposed to celebrating them, treating them with respect every day? Not arguing, just wondering

IMN - men's day is 19. november. :) But is just 10 or so years old.

a few days late, but late last night I noticed a large banner in the windows of Hunter College announcing International Women's Day. Yeah! for the university.
