Sunday Bridges--sunset over the old and the new

A photo taken at sunset from Kalemegdan Park. Belgrade's newest bridge spans nearly the entire photo, dwarfing the old tower that still stands in Belgrade's old fairgrounds, site of what was during WWII a concentration camp. Branko's Bridge is in the foreground.

Spectacular, but the air looks terrible. The image has a dark futuristic look.

«Louis» likes the style of the new bridge. The new section of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge will have a similar style.

«Louis» linked this for you to Sunday Bridges.

Looks like the bridge was just "penciled" in! I like the look of this shot - surreal!

A surrealistic effect indeed! The atmosphere of the picture is hard to describe.

Wow, that is quite an impressive bridge!!! I'd love to see that scene on a clear day. I'm in the early stages of planning some time in Belgrade this summer, just a day or two on either side of a trip to Novi Sad.

What a gorgeous view of the bridge in this kind of light. If it is this amazing now, I would what it would look like on a bright and sunny day. genie

The dusk adds a bit of mystery to this - makes the bridge look like a phoenix, rising...
