THEME DAY-at water's edge

Believe it or not, this photo was only taken about 10 days ago before our weather turned fall-ish. Yes, I know it's time, but as I type, it's windy, rainy, and overall very stormy. Click here to see other posts.

since Hurricane Sandy whipped into/out of town the temps have dropped a good 10=15 degrees .. we've gone from sweaters to coats/scarves/gloves ...

your photo is a lovely reminder ..

PICKLED RED ONIONS

  My grandmother used to make these around Thanksgiving and now so have I.  Great as a tart side, in salads, or in a leftover turkey sandwic...
