since Hurricane Sandy whipped into/out of town the temps have dropped a good 10=15 degrees .. we've gone from sweaters to coats/scarves/gloves ...

Ah, so it is not only Chennai or the US East Coast, the wet weather has got us every where! Nice to see that sliver of brilliant blue!
