When I'm in Seattle, one of my favorite stores to browse through (and yes, sometimes buy something) is World Market. I used to have a collection of teapots in unusual shapes and once-upon-a-time would have bought one of these. I've downsized and kept only a few of my collection.
I've been to the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower, and the elephant one here reminds me of Atlantic City's Lucy the Elephant that my grandfather and I visited several times when I was little.
Lovely OBJETS D'ART, but these remained unpurchased by me.
See other O's on ABC WEDNESDAY.

Nice to be able to look and not buy, or have to dust them later.
La tradition était ancrée en moi d'aller à World Market une fois par an à Noël...
these are charming but many of us reach a point where acquisition of things no longer holds the same attraction as it once did.
what a cool store, made me think of Fishs Eddy
I just recently read a novel with Lucy the Elephant in it!!! I didn't know she actually exists!!!
I had the same thought as Daryl. The Eiffel Tower teapot might make a nice addition to my ET collection (or it might be that one too many).
My wife would love to browse this shop! Isn't it interesting that as we get older, "things" that we used to collect and appreciate lose some or all of their meaning? I think we sense there are more important pieces of life to which we must attend.
I just read Brattcat's comment and am glad to know that great minds run along the same path! :)
Oh, thank you, Bibi! I've been looking for a usable, large, just-right teapot going on over 3 years now, from chichi shops, to hardware stores, to craft fairs. I recently saw that elephant teapot in a silent auction basket and unsuccessfully tried to track down where it came from. Now I know. Last time I went to World Market they had these Plain Jane, small, solid color, tiny pots. Guess I'll have to take another look there.
