ABC WEDNESDAY--"O" is for "Original"

This fellow is wearing what I think is an original hat for a guy, along with his maybe not so original pigtail.  At first I thought Coke might have been the original carbonated soft drink, but not so.  Carbonated drinks have been around for quite a while, it seems.  As far as classics are concerned,
root beer was mass produced in 1876, 1881 brought us the first cola-flavored drink, Dr. Pepper was invented in 1885, Coca Cola in 1886, and Pepsi in 1892.

"Osveži se"  (another O) on the Coke machine translate as, "Refresh yourself."

See other Os on Mrs. Nesbitt's ABC WEDNESDAY.

Quite a unique hat. I didn't know Dr. Pepper turned up before Coke.

maybe because of the blue item behind it, but at first I thought the Coke machine was on wheels, moving!

coke was first developed as a medicine. Some people still brew it with ginger and lemon for a flu medicine. Is this Original news to you?

I like his Original look.

When I was a kid, the vet prescribed coke syrup for our dog, who had a "belly ache." (So yes, medicinal.) But we used some to make our own cokes—twice as strong and sweet as the store-bought ones.

SUNSET

A beautiful urban sunset over New Belgrade. The 'smoke' from the stacks on the left is actually just steam from the heating plant....
