Despite the sign on the right that says 'furrier,' this man represents a baker....there's a bakery nearby.

Impressions of Belgrade and Serbia and maybe photos from an in-country trip by a long-term ex-pat.

Tulips in the window and a reflection of greenery from across the street.

SKYWATCH--sailing
A sailboat's mast and sail echo the bridge in the background. Taken while crossing the Sava River to Ada, Belgrade's largest river island.

Canine consideration
...or rather, Consideration FOR Canines. Someone thought of this clever water dish and stuck it on a tree. Sidewalks get really hot for little padded feet.

ABC WEDNESDAY---"C" is for "Chillin''
He may be just out there chillin', but he's definitely not cool, at least in the temperature sense. He'd be better off in one of those apartments with the air conditioner on.

MONDAY MURALS--Outer space in an alley
This brightly-colored mural caught my eye while I was walking. Almost shouted to me to come down the alley, but I didn't.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--backwards...
Just when I needed a shadow one turned up!
In Serbian, 'photo' is spelled 'foto', and in this case, the letter on your right is the 'f' in Cyrillic.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--not Christmas
With all this red, one could easily imagine I took this last Christmas, but no.
These red balloons were simply part of a recent window display in a perfume shop.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"B" is for "By my side"
I was out again without my big camera, naughty me, so this is a phone shot.
I've seen this couple several mornings in a row....I am wondering if they spend the night in the park. I hope not.

MONDAY MURALS---through the garage into a courtyard
The title says it all. That's how I spotted this mural, or at least wall art.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--my friend's terrace
My friend Jasmina has a great rooftop terrace. I love to go see her anyway, and in the summer we have a cool drink there.... This is a reflection of the sunset behind me.
She's got a green thumb, too; many more plants, but they were behind me....

A threesome....
Occasionally I run across a single shoe on the street....and I always wonder how it was lost. Here, though, there are three, and none of them match.
Never did discover the story behind these slippers, and doubt if these three will tell their tale either.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--Å ipan Island, Croatia
Taken at the port of Å ipan in Croatia. I'm not sure why, but this makes me think of a 1950s French movie.

SKYWATCH--from the Big Apple
Not a Belgrade sky, but this photo sent to me by my friend Marianne, who is from NYC and now spending the summer there, was too good to pass up.
A double rainbow over her house. I wonder if there are two pots of gold.

ABC WEDNESDAY--Z is for Zoo
Thanks to my son for this photo he sent of an arrangement of animals, though not at the zoo, made by my granddaughter.
A tea party....

The stationary Trabant
The Trabant was the iconic symbol of the now defunct East Germany, and had the reputation of being uncomfortable, slow, noisy, and a heavy polluter. You still see them around occasionally, like this one parked on a street near me. It's always in the same place, or one space ahead or behind, and never has a parking ticket on it.....
Don't you just love how the exhaust pipe is held on?
Happy Fourth of July to my American readers.

MONDAY MURALS--LOOK!
Look at what I am not sure....I couldn't see anything worthwhile....maybe just like the old joke: "See? Made you look!"
