ABC WEDNESDAY - "E" is for "Elderly"

Old age....we're all going to get there, unless Fate steps in beforehand.  We'll all need a little support of some kind, as these two people.

It rained last night....

But for me, that's better than snow.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--The other day in the fog

Very foggy the other day.  I was on my cell phone when this man passed me. Something said, 'Turn around!' and so I did.

Hence this photo.

SKYWATCH--cold and clear

Bibi loves to romp on this knoll, but I'm not venturing up.  Slippery!

Street Dogs at Singidunum

Two art-loving dogs waiting for the Singidunum art gallery to open.

Singidunum was the name of the original Roman 3rd century B.C. settlement that became Belgrade.

This post goes out to Katja, whom I showed you yesterday. It's her birthday!

ABC WEDNESDAY "D" is for "dogs"

Do you remember Katja, whom I've shown you several times since 2009?  If you click on that link, you'll see that at that time she had over 250 dogs...  With thanks to a very good friend of hers, homes were found for the great majority, and Katja has now moved into another little house with a large yard, where she has kept about 9 of her older pets.

This little lady will be 72 tomorrow.  Happy Birthday, Katja!

Not all dark and gray

Winter has its darkness and gloom, slush and ice, which make the bright things really stand out, as do these facades and doors.

Still have to watch your step, though.

Reference to surrealism?

At an exhibit of vintage objects a few weeks ago, I came across this window in the museum with a figure that reminded me a lot of the Belgian surrealist, Rene Magritte, whom you can see in the bottom photo.  No one was around to explain this figure's presence or why he seemed to want to enter through a window.  Unexpected juxtaposition is one of the characteristics of surrealism, so perhaps someone who set up the exhibit wanted to see if anyone 'got it'. I did, I guess.

It's my day again

It's my birthday again I did not (have to) enhance the colors on this photo....someone has a heavy hand with the food coloring and I don't find these macarons attractive. They remind me of this recent post.

And remember, don't confuse macarons with macaroons.

I am a dyed-in-the-wool Aquarius, and I also used to think I was born in the Year of the Rat, but according to this link, I was actually born in the Year of the Fire Pig, since my birthday then fell before the Chinese New Year that year.  That description fits me better anyway!
