MONDAY MURAlS in Odzaci

Yesterday I went on a road trip with some friends to the northern part of Serbia, a region called Vojvodina (VOY-vuh-dee-na).  We ended our trip there before returning to Belgrade with a visit to an ice cream store in Odzaci (UD-jah-tsee), next to which this large mural (actually a mosaic, but I'm desperate) was created.

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--triangles

I was sitting with a friend on the terrace of Hotel Moskva, sipping a lemonade and wondering where I'd find a shadow shot for today's post.

And all of a sudden, there it was, right in front of me.  Actually, it was across the street a bit, but thanks to my 300mm lens, here it is close-up.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--Upper Danube Reserve

Last Saturday I took my granddaughter on a trip to the Upper Danube region, not far from Sombor in Serbia, where there is a beautiful nature reserve and a nearby private zoo.

Theme Day--June 'Me'

Moi, in the center, in 1968, in Paris....and I seem to be the only one of the three who doesn't seem cold. But I was....I remember feeling positively frozen and my feet were damp. Love the knee socks....

Glare

I have to admit, most cats give me the creeps. They're often unpredictable, and I am never quite sure whether they're just looking at me or planning to leap on me....

Don't need to tell you I was never exposed to many cats as a child, but I really do know some nice ones...but those for me are what I call 'dog-cats'. They come when you call, treat me nicely, don't dig their claws in...oh, there I go again.

This train may first appear as if it's rounding the bend, but no, it's been abandoned, and hasn't moved or been moved for quite a while.

Setting up

A small local restaurant that caters to people, let's say, men actually, of a certain age....offers chess, too.

Recently the place was repainted and spiffed up, and looks like they're ready to roll again...

Wedding time

Actually, it's always wedding time here, though the crowds are more visible when the weather is nicer.

Everyone here is waiting for the bride to exit Saint Marko's cathedral.
