Reflecting on the past month

When I walk beside rivers, I slow down, reflect on life, appreciate my surroundings... Along part of the Sava River in New Belgrade is a statue honoring Mohandas (Mahatma) Ghandi, India's major political and spiritual leader, especially his dedication to his philosophy of truth and resistance to evil through active, non-violent resistance, in short peaceful protests. The first photo shows Ghandi's bust along with an exercise group stretching in the background. The second is an earlier photo not far from Ghandi, showing a bicyclist who is, I believe, really meditating or else just lost in thought.

I really like the second picture. He really looks someone who was enjoying the weather. Excellent shot!

Mahatma Ghandi's bust I am again pleasantly surprised to learn can be found here. Both exceptional images,
the reflective tone running through both. Always an education and a pleasure stopping by.

I'm from Brazil but since I've been to Belgrade for the 1st time (last winter), I fell in love with the city - and I can't wait to be back there in august :)
Congratulations for the blog - reading it and seeing the pictures made me miss Belgrade a bit less then the usual :)

Pozdrav iz Brazila!

PICKLED RED ONIONS

My grandmother used to make these around Thanksgiving and now so have I.  Great as a tart side, in salads, or in a leftover turkey sandwic...
