I don't know about you, but I don't want to step on this baby! For 20 dinars, or about 39 cents, you can weigh yourself and have this scale blab out your pounds (or probably kilos here) to passers-by! What fun! But it doesn't look as if this chap has much business.P.S. Speaking of pounds and kilos, I posted the recipe for yesterday's cake in the comment section under that photo.

Re yesterday's cake, looks like this is typical of something you'd want to have when you go out. Four different cakes baked separately and 16 eggs, not your easy bake-at-home recipe !!!
I don't know if you remember or not but at county fairs they used to have a man and his scales and he guessed your weight before you stepped on the scales. My mom, a heavy-set woman then, was guessed and got on the scales and he missed it so she didn't have to pay anything.
I think you paid a dime and he guessed your weight and his guess has to be within 1 or 2 pounds of your actual weight for him to win and keep your dime.
If I don't get back to see you again before the weekend, I will wish you a "Happy Decoration Day" weekend. Alas, now called 'Memorial Day' weekend here in the states; and, better known for the Indianapolis 500 race than for decorating the graves of the dead.

It is passive income. Say he gets two customers an hour (40DIN per hour).
With 16 productive hours (10am to midnight) x 7 day a week = 14000 dinars a month.
Minus the bribes to cops, he might clear as much as 11,000 (€121) a month just for sitting around on Knez watching the ladies go by nd reading his book.
For reference, he is "paid" only slightly less than some workers in the car factories of Kragujevac (€150).
Remind me to walk on the other side of the street.
