Another protest

This photo dates from the end of July during a protest held by the Serbian Radical Party to protest the sending of war criminal Radovan Karadžić to The Hague. Aside from the actual protestors, these events are often attended by groups of unruly young people looking for a "good time," i.e. wreaking havoc and causing millions of dinars in damage to public property. Indeed, the terra cotta feet I'd posted on August 27th and similar art creations which were on display on the pedestrian street, Knez Mihailova, made handy projectiles.

The unthinking rowdies disrupt demonstrations here too. Even as those youngsters grow up, a new crop of ignorant ones appears to take their place. Fear? Sexual frustration? Ennui?

Uselaine took the words right out of "Louis's" mouth...
Appalling behavior.

It's unfortunate that some people take advantage of such serious issues so they can behave badly.
This is a very good photo Bibi, the color blue, with the streetlight in the front corner along with the interesting activity, all make for an intriguing photo!

Even more appalling when you consider the acts committed in Karadžić’s name. I am interested to know how the general public perceive the Radical Party’s line.

I guess it has always been thus. People demonstrate, or try to, to get a point across (whether we agree with it or not). A few wild ones take advantage of a chance to make noise and create havoc. It's too bad when someone's hurt, or what's damaged is a piece of art or history, and not just a window or a fender.

I don't mind protesters, but the "groups of unruly young people looking for a 'good time'" really make me angry.

As for Radovan Karadzic, he belongs in the Hague. But then, so too does Dick Cheney. I doubt we'll ever see that happen, though.

The two rowdies in your photo look a lot like inebriated college guys after a football game here in the states! Just substitute the lamp post for a goal post.

SPRING FASHION

This is a post that would be better in color, but maybe not. These colors were soooo pale.
