Sky Watch Friday--the road to Belgrade

Belgrade, or "Beograd," as it is known here, means "white city." Here is the White City under a lavender sky, viewed from the Belgrade-Niš highway as we returned from a trip the other week.

The purple haze over the city is wonderful. Nice how the road leads you into the photo.

Hi! Virginia, the odd-shaped buildings are apartments that have been there at least since I came, i.e. 30+ years ago...some architect had a vision....

Hi Bibi, how are you? Sorry for not coming and visiting regularly these days, I'm so busy with packing my stuff and getting ready for my big trip.

Nice purple sky.

Every Sunday evening at THIS very time I'm passing this road on the way back from our weekend house in Grocka area...

I love and hate this scene in the same time!

Beautiful twilight shot of the Belgrade skyline for Sky Watch!
Your ability and strength to keep on keeping on with this blog is an inspiration to all of us here.
Whatever your plans are for coming this way, Bibi, please know that we would like to meet as we discussed whenever convenient for you.

I think Louis la Vache would apprecate this. It is such a beautiful lilac sky like those San Fransico ones. For once too an uncluttered highway.

Lovely gradations in your shot! I laughed at Igor's recognition of the scene as his own "love/hate" view each weekend. Wishing you many lovely autumn skies ahead.
