Chew, chew.

Here's a close-up of gum along San Luis Obispo's Bubble Gum Alley. Kim of Seattle Daily Photo recently posted a full shot of this landmark, so have a look. Naturally, I chewed a piece of gum and left it there. It's the whiter-looking one to the lower left of the red piece on the lower left of the wrapper someone stuck on the wall, if you're interested....and I know you are...

Have to go with the consensus here: Disgusting or delightful? Gross or groovy? Revolting or revelatory? Really hard to decide. (I inherited an old school desk once and the underside looked much like this. In that instance, it was easy to decide: yucch!)

Looks as popular as the Market Theater gum wall!
Glad you could do your part, Bibi -:)

Bibi, how lovely! And I'm glad you looked up the original San Luis Opbispo Bubble Gum Alley. Although my dad's side of the family hails from those parts and I've been there many times, I've never visited Bubble Gum Alley. The shot I recently featured was of Seattle's Johnny-come-lately Market Theater Gum Wall in Post Alley, only 15 or so years old, back to the mid 90s sometime. SLO's goes back to at least the early 60s, I'm told. So that black gunk under the more colorful offerings in your shot. . .that could be an archeological find! :-)
